Lieutenant de Martinet, or L.D.M.

Real Occupation: High School student
My first set was http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItem.asp?S=6791-1.
How long have I been addicted to the brick? As long as I can remember. When I was little, I always built the official set with the instructions, played with it a bit, then immediately took it apart to build my own creations. I still do it that way. :D
I build in almost every theme, except for modern military. Ugh. I'd love to try building a train someday, though.
Three most favorite Creations:
http://www.flickr.com/photos/ltdemartinet/4186966004/ Power Suit
http://www.flickr.com/photos/ltdemartinet/3957280948/ Mechanical Hand
http://www.flickr.com/photos/ltdemartinet/3368975520/ Turris Altissima

I'm on a couple different fora (Eurobricks, etc.), but I like http://www.flickr.com/photos/ltdemartinet/ Flickr the best; it's the only one I check daily.
What are my current projects? I get temporarily tired with one project quickly, so I have way too many MOCs in WIP form right now, including a microscale pirate fort, a Stanley Steamer, another castle, a large sci-fi diorama, and the not-so-working parts of a mag-lev shuttle. They'll all get done. Eventually.

If you remember your first set, which was it?
Hmm, I don't really remember what it was. But it must have been something from the early townsets i believe...

How long have you been addicted to the brick (including a Dark Age if you’ve had one)?
Since I was 3 years old. I've always been building the sets and as I became 8 I was only into the Technics. Then there was a period of my life when I was 14 until I was 18 when I didn't build at all. And then I discovered Brickshelf and was totally sold!
I had never seen such fantastic things. It was so creative and full of fantasy and I never thought the interest of LEGO could be so big, that I was alone with my bricks...
So I was back in the game and still going strong.

How long have you been building MOCs?
For about 3 years.

What is/are your preferred theme(s)?
Machines, Steam, Robots, Tanks, Vignettes, but also everything that is perfectly- and well-built...

Theme you’d most like to try?
The first five mentioned above i suppose...

Three most favorite Creations?

If you remember your first set, which was it?
I really don't remember an exact one, but I do remember a bunch of Town sets from the early 90's.

How long have you been addicted to the brick (including a Dark Age if you’ve had one)?
I've been building with Lego for as long as I can remember. I've never had a proper Dark Age (thankfully), but there was a sort of grayish one during my teen years.

How long have you been building MOCs?
Just about for as long as I've been building with Lego.

What is/are your preferred theme(s)?
I'm a military builder at heart, but besides that I've also got a soft spot for Town creations.

Theme you’d most like to try?
There are plenty of things I'd like to try my hand at, but for the time being I would like to try building a steam train.

Three most favorite Creations:
SEPECAT Jaguar Gr.4N http://www.flickr.com/photos/aleksander_se/sets/72157621829982497/

Which online or IRL LEGO groups / sites do you participate in? I'm a member of TeenLUG, but I'm not sure if that classifies as IRL...

What is/are your current project(s)? I'm working on making MIDI versions of the Rebel starfighters, as well as a Lambda-class/YT-1300 Ugly ship.

How long have you been addicted to the brick (including a Dark Age if you’ve had one)? Since I was 2, with no dark ages, so 14 years.
How long have you been building MOCs? I first found the online community back in 2005 (i.e. Brickshelf), but wasn't involved. However, some new techniques filtered into my building style, which was then still designed for play, not looks. My first MOCs for looks, not play, was this, in October 2007, followed by this - I built slowly at the time, but it was a steep learning curve. I think I'm only properly happy with MOCs from the beginning of this year onwards, although not with all of them...

If you remember your first set, which was it?
No, I don't remember, that's too long ago, I can just remember that I loved to play with classic space and everything else.
My first Legos were a pile of standard bricks, I think they were even used, so no set;-)

How long have you been addicted to the brick (including a Dark Age if you’ve had one)?
In my childhood I was totally addicted until about 12, then I sold everything and got into my dark ages. Now blaq'd by my dark ages I reconnected to my childhood in the event of the arrival of my son. And that addiction started one and a half years ago...

How long have you been building MOCs?
I only know the term MOCs for one and a half years now...since then I am MOCing. In my childhood I only built own stuff.

What is/are your preferred theme(s)?
Original Lego themes:
Star Wars by parts, but the opposite by price (Way too expensive!)
Exo-Force is quite cool and I also like the creator sets.

My personal favorite theme would be sci-fi in general, but more developed like proper (directing / state of the art) conceptual
designs. Most designs from TLC are too chubby IMHO.

Theme you’d most like to try?
Up to now I tried everything I had in my mind, last was the Lego Graffiti stuff I had in mind since I restarted to do the Lego thing.
Hmmm, I would like to try my hands on some figure sculpturing.

Three most favorite Creations? *you must include a link for me to use

If you remember your first set, which was it? There were two I remember from childhood but they were so old I couldn’t find links to them. One was a construction set that had a conveyor belt and a crane on a track…the other was the first Lego Lunar Lander…I’m not talking the one from 2003, I mean the old school precursor to classic space. Both were too hard for me so my dad had to build them for me.

How long have you been addicted to the brick (including a Dark Age if you’ve had one)? I had Lego as a kid but went through a Dark Ages right around the time I turned 13 or so and my dad suggested I should put away the toys and do sports or chase girls or something. During my Dark Ages I still enjoyed looking at Lego but kept my shameful Lego secret hidden like a trunk full of girlie magazines. But then I came out of the “Lego closet” in my early 30’s when I was surfing the net and discovered an entire network of very talented adult builders.

How long have you been building MOCs? Very actively for about 5 or 6 years.

What is/are your preferred theme(s)? Its sort of my own theme but its best described as Model Team. I build lots of larger scale classic cars, trucks and bikes…everything from hot rods to jumping lowriders to classic kustoms to nostalgic dragsters. I’m also spearheading a new Battle Bugs theme for Brickcon and I occasionally build UCS scale spaceships.

Theme you’d most like to try? Steampunk

How long have you been addicted to the brick (including a Dark Age if you’ve had one)? I've been building for roughly 12 years with minor breaks.
How long have you been building MOCs? I've only recently been building serious MOCs. I started posting in the online community after finding BL in 2008.

First Set: Set #2886 Formula 1 Racing Car http://brickset.com/detail.aspx?Set=2886-1

How Long Have You Been Addicted to the Brick?
11 Years and no dark ages luckily.

How Long Have You Been Building MOCs?
When I got some of my first sets. They weren't the greatest, but they were MOCs all the same. I joined the online community in late 2007 though.

Favorite Themes/Themes I Want To Try:
My personal favorite themes currently are Pirates and Castle along with Landscape designs. I want to try any of the themes I haven't gotten a chance to try. I like to build what people are interested. When TDK came out I know I built a BatPod. I like to almost build current events, movies, TV, LEGO Themes, etc.

Three Most Favorite MOCs:
Hmm...
Stranded - A Young Man's Journal - http://mocpages.com/moc.php/69949 Possibly because it is one of the largest MOCs I have ever built, but it also has a great water effect, cliff face, and waterfall.

Lonesomely - http://mocpages.com/moc.php/75448
I really like some of the SNOT technique used, but the photography irks me because it is a little overexposed.

BatPod - http://mocpages.com/moc.php/72947
For some reason I just love the design of it and I had great photography when I finished it.

Which online or IRL LEGO groups / sites do you participate in?
I started with BrickFilms.com, but later moved to BricksInMotion.com and now Classic-Pirates, EuroBricks, FlickR, BrickShelf, MOCPages.
